Confirming rumblings from the recent ASTRA Marketplace and Academy in Pittsburgh, Zing Global has acquired the Marshmallow Fun brand through the Marshmallow Fun Co. Under the purchase agreement, Zing will assume manufacturing and marketing responsibilities for Marshmallow Fun, with Ozwest Inc. and Fizz Bizz Inc. handling distribution throughout North America.
The flagship toy from Marshmallow Fun is the Marshmallow Blaster — which can be loaded with 25 mini marshmallows that kids can blast at distances up to 30 feet.
“The Marshmallow Fun Brand is an exciting line of toys that will integrate seamlessly into our award-winning line of blasters and bow and arrow sets that have fueled the company’s growth and continue to be at the core of our business,” says Kristy Comstock, vice president of operations, Ozwest.
Ozwest distributes its Zing range of toys to mass retailers including Walmart and Target, while specialty and e-commerce retail distribution is handled through Fizz Bizz.
The addition of Marshmallow Fun to the Zing arsenal marks the first toy to include edible ammo, with the blaster joining a lineup that includes Zax, Air Storm, Zombie Slayerz, Hyper Strike, and more.
