Ubisoft Releases Trailer for Rocksmith 2014 Edition Session Mode

RocksmithUbisoft has released a trailer showcasing Session Mode, a new groundbreaking feature of Rocksmith 2014 Edition.

In Session Mode, players lead a band that plays along with them and follows their lead, and in the process, learn to improvise and create their own music. Players can jam with a friend in Multiplayer mode and create their own band experience.

Rocksmith 2014 Edition allows players to plug any real guitar or bass directly into their Xbox 360PlayStation 3, PC, or Mac to begin their musical journey. Rocksmith 2014 Edition will launch on October 22.

Ubisoft Will Feature Watch Dogs at New York Comic Con

Ubisoft.logoUbisoft’s lineup for New York Comic Con will feature the companion app for Watch Dogs, the company’s upcoming open-world action-adventure video game, and its The Next Level competition. Attendees can check out the company’s booths between October 10 and 13 at the Javits Center in New York City.

At the Watch Dogs theater, the adversarial mode of the app Watch Dogs—ctOS Mobile, will be highlighting ways in which players can invade each others’ games within the world of Watch Dogs. Players take on the role of Aiden Pierce, a vigilante who, with the help of his smartphone, can hack into Chicago’s central operating system and control almost every element of the city.

The Next Level puts attendees’ gaming skills to the test in head-to-head competitions. Gamers will try their hand at popular Ubisoft titles, including Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag, Just Dance 2014, and The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot, before facing-off in a mystery title for the final round. Each day, the winner of The Next Level competition walks away with a package that includes a gaming PC, a next-generation console with pre-ordered hardware, and tickets to PAX East 2014.

Ubisoft and Sony Pictures Collaborate for Watch Dogs Movie

WatchDogUbisoft has announced that its film and television division, Ubisoft Motion Pictures, is collaborating with Sony Pictures Entertainment and New Regency on a film based on Watch Dogs, Ubisoft’s open-world action-adventure video game. Ubisoft and Sony will also release the Watch Dogs gameplay that will be available for PlayStation 4 this holiday.

Watch Dogs centers on Aiden Pearce, a hacker inflicting his own brand of justice after a violent family tragedy. Using his skills, Pearce hacks into Chicago’s Central Operating System (ctOS), which controls the city’s infrastructure. In the game, Pearce turns the entire city of Chicago into his ultimate weapon. The game received awards at E3 2012, including Best of Show from GamingExcellence and three awards (Biggest Surprise, Best New Franchise, and Best PC Game) from IGN. The game also won GameSpot’s People’s Choice Most Exciting Game of E3 2013.

Ubisoft Motion Pictures will oversee the project at Ubisoft, and at Columbia, Hannah Minghella and Sam Dickerman will oversee development while Alexandra Milchan and Andrew Calof will work on the film for New Regency.

Hasbro and Ubisoft Partner to Bring Hasbro Games to Consoles

ubiUbisoft will develop and publish current and next-generation console games based on some of Hasbro’s most popular gaming brands, including Monopoly, Scrabble (in the U.S. and Canada only), Trivial Pursuit, Risk, Battleship, and Cranium.

Ubisoft’s Rabbids to Debut on Nickelodeon

NICKELODEON RAVING RABBIDSUbisoft‘s Rabbids will make their TV debut in Nickelodeon‘s CG-animated series Rabbids Invasion, premiering August 3 at 11:30 a.m The 26 half-hour episodes will follow the unpredictable creatures as they discover, explore, and often wreak havoc in the human world. All episodes will be available on iTunes, Amazon Instant Video, Xbox Video, PlayStation Store, Samsung Media Hub, and Vudu starting the day after they air. The series will also debut on Nickelodeon channels internationally beginning this fall.

During the premiere, “Omelet Party,” the Rabbids stumble across a farm and become fascinated with the chickens’ ability to lay eggs. Next in “Rabbid Mollusk,” the Rabbids find questionable uses for a starfish and an octopus while disrupting an old man’s attempt to clean the windows. In “Rabbid, Are You There?,” the Rabbids become fascinated watching a burglar attempt to rob an apartment while unknowingly assisting with a fortune-teller’s reading on the floor below.

Beginning July 17, viewers can log on to Nick.com/rabbids to access photo galleries featuring the world travels of the Rabbids, animated gifs, and videos of the upcoming series. The Nick app joins in on the mischievous fun, featuring Rabbids-themed comedic disruptions in the funny, and surprising Do Not Touch button. On August 26, fans can play the Rabbids Rhythm Game on Nick.com/rabbids.

Created and produced by Ubisoftin 2006, the wacky, mischievous Rabbids have become known worldwide, with more than 14 million video games sold and hundreds of licensed products that feature the Rabbids characters. Viral videos starring the Rabbids have attracted more than 62 million views on YouTube. The Rabbids brand extends across multiple genres including parodies, videos, illustrations, and consumer products. The new television series will also generate a range of opportunity for Ubisoft, with a string of partnerships for every major category including apparel, accessories, toys, and back-to-school.

Global Smurfs Day Events to Be Held Worldwide June 22

SONY PICTURES ENTERTAINMENT GLOBAL SMURFS DAYColumbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation will once again coordinate events all over the world on June 22 as part of Global Smurfs Day, a worldwide event in anticipation of the release of The Smurfs 2, in theaters July 31. Global Smurfs Day celebrates the birthday of Peyo, the creator of the Smurfs, born June 25, 1928.

This will be the second celebration of Global Smurfs Day. In 2011, the round-the-world events included painting one of the famous White Towns of Andalusia blue and setting a new record for Largest Gathering of People Dressed as Smurfs within a 24-hour period. This year, the studio has lined up a program of events, highlighted by a worldwide Smurf Ambassadors initiative, in which more than 40 ambassadors from 28 countries will represent Smurfs fans from around the world with a special day of events celebrating Peyo’s creation. Ubisoft and Toys “R” Us Launch Toys “R” Us Towers

Ubisoft and Toys “R” Us have teamed up to create Toys “R” Us Towers, a free-to-play toy store simulation game with real-world benefits, available now on Facebook. The game will also be available on mobile devices in the coming months.

Created by Ubisoft Quebec, Toys “R” Us Towers gives players the chance to step into the shoes of the newest employee at Toys “R” Us. They will be able to manage their own toy store by building and designing a variety of toy departments and attractions, such as creating a science toy department or even adding a Ferris wheel just like the 60-foot indoor Ferris wheel featured in the Toys “R” Us international flagship store in Times Square. The Wait Is Almost Over: Nintendo to Release Wii U, 23 New Games November 18

Nintendo is unleashing the largest launch-day video game lineup in its history for its new Wii U home console. When Wii U launches in the Americas on Nov. 18, 23 games from Nintendo and its third-party publishing partners will be ready to play as well. These include Nintendo-published games like Nintendo Land, New Super Mario Bros. U, Sing Party, and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge, as well as third-party powerhouses like ZombiU from Ubisoft, Call of Duty: Black Ops II from Activision Publishing, Inc., Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two from Disney Interactive, FIFA Soccer 13 from Electronic Arts, and Scribblenauts Unlimited from Warner Bros. Disney Joins the Just Dance Movement with New Game

Ubisoft will release Just Dance: Disney Party in October. The game will be available for Kinect for Xbox 360, in which up to four players can enjoy the dancing. The game will be available for purchase online and at retail nationwide, and will include music from Disney movies such as Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Tangled, Lilo and Stitch, and The Jungle Book. Music from Disney Channel shows such as Shake it up, A.N.T. Farm, Jessie, Phineas and Ferb, and Good Luck Charlie, is also included. Just Dance: Disney also includes graphics from the films and the television shows.
