AirMech Arena Coming to Xbox from Ubisoft

AirMechArenaUbisoft has partnered with Carbon Games to bring AirMech Arena, a free-to-play competitive game, to the Xbox Live online entertainment network. It will be available for download on Xbox 360 this summer.

AirMech Arena supports single-player, multiplayer cooperative, and multiplayer competitive gameplay for teams of two to three players. The plot revolves around a war-torn future in which powerful weapons known as AirMechs dominate the battlefields. Tetris Celebrates 30 Years with Philly Tech Week Kick-Off, Skyscraper-Sized Game

Tetris.PhillyThe world’s largest Tetris game will be played on the Cira Centre office building in Philadelphia this Saturday, from 7 to 10 p.m. Video game enthusiasts and techies of all ages will gather at Eakins Oval, located in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, to play the Tetris game on the 29-story tower.

Dr. Frank Lee, the founder of Drexel University’s Entrepreneurial Game Studio, will turn Cira’s LED arrays into a fully interactive version of the Tetris game, in honor of both Tetris’ 30th anniversary, as well as to kick off festivities for Philly Tech Week. Visitors will be able to play the game using an arcade-style controller at Eakins Oval. More than 100 people, randomly selected from an online lottery, will also have the opportunity to play. Sony Online Entertainment Launches Player Studio in Landmark

LandmarkStarting last Wednesday, Player Studio creators in select regions outside of the U.S. are able to submit in-game items across all Player Studio-supported games using Landmark, it was announced by Sony Online Entertainment LLC (SOE).

Player Studio offers gamers and creators the opportunity to create items that can be sold in the in-game marketplaces of their favorite SOE games, and share in revenue generated by those sales. Previously, participation in Player Studio required that creators be based in the U.S. and skilled at creating items in 3-D modeling software. However, with Landmark, SOE opens the door for more players worldwide to participate as they can save any of their creations directly to a template, which upon approval, can be sold within Player Studio. Sega’s Alien: Isolation Brings the Fear This October

AlienIsolationSega of America Inc., Sega Europe Ltd., and Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products will release Alien: Isolation on October 7. Developed by Creative Assembly, it will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Windows PC.

Alien: Isolation is a first-person survival horror game that evokes Ridley Scott’s 1979 classic film, Alien. Players find themselves stalked by an unpredictable, ruthless Xenomorph creature, and must scavenge resources, improvise solutions, and use their wits to not just complete the mission, but to stay alive.

Phineas and Ferb Arrives on Disney Infinity

Phineas&FerbToyBoxThe Disney Infinity Phineas and Ferb Toy Box Pack will be available nationwide on April 1. The new pack features the Phineas and Agent P characters from Disney Channel’s animated series Phineas and Ferb. Players embark on secret spy missions and defeat enemies with Agent P’s flying fedora or Phineas’ baseball blaster and tuck and roll moves, and both character figures are accompanied by their own unique adventures. In the Phineas Adventure, players are sent into a giant pinball machine and challenged to create a play field where they can destroy waves of oncoming robots. In the Agent P adventure, players can participate in a top-down adventure with side-scrolling elements that pay homage to old school arcade games.

The Phineas and Ferb Toy Box Pack will also include two new power discs to give players’ Toy Boxes a makeover: The Tri-State Area Terrain Texture Set and the Danville Sky Sky Theme, each of which provides players with well-known location backgrounds from the show, including the Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated building.

Little Orbit Adapting TV Properties Adventure Time, Falling Skies

LittleOrbitLogoLittle Orbit will bring multiple properties to gaming consoles and handheld devices later this year. The video game publisher will create a game based on the animated series Adventure Time for gaming consoles. It will be released globally and launched in North America this fourth quarter.

Earlier this year, Little Orbit released Falling Skies Planetary Warfare, a mobile game based on the TNT dramatic series, Falling Skies. Little Orbit will launch a console version later this year.

Little Orbit to Publish How To Train Your Dragon 2 Video Game

March19.Dragons2Little Orbit has partnered with DreamWorks Animation to bring the How to Train Your Dragon 2 video game to consoles across major platforms. The release of the game will coincide with the theatrical release of How to Train Your Dragon 2 this June.

The game lets players go on an adventure as a dragon rider, and features tournament events, mini-games, training exercises, and characters from the movie. It was developed by Torus Games and will be available for the Xbox 360, Nintendo 3DS, Wii, Wii U, and Playstation 3.

Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag Available for PlayStation 4

AssassinsCreedBlackFlagUbisoft has announced the availability of Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag on the PlayStation 4 in North America. Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag is the first Assassin’s Creed game to be on the next generation consoles. On the PlayStation 4, gamers will be able to use Remote Play to stream Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag to their PlayStation Vita handheld entertainment system via Wi-Fi.

For a limited time, when gamers buy the disc or digital version of Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag for PlayStation 3 they can download a PlayStation 4 digital copy from the PlayStation Store for a discounted price.

Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag will release on Xbox One and Windows PC on November 19.

Nintendo Releases New Nintendo 3DS XL with Launch of New Zelda Game

The Legend of Zelda series is always associated with the color gold, and with the launch of The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds on November 22, the tradition continues. A new Nintendo 3DS XL bundle will launch on the same day that includes the Nintendo 3DS XL with gold and black coloring and the Triforce on the exterior, as well as a download code for The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. The system is gold on one side and black on the other, representing the two parallel worlds Link travels between in the game.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is set in the same world as The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for Super NES and takes place in the same Hyrule after many years have passed. In this new game, Link must journey between two worlds, Hyrule and Lorule, using a mysterious power that lets him become a drawing on walls. Link’s ability to merge with walls allows players to solve puzzles and explore dungeons in a new way. Players are also able to buy or rent various items throughout the game, allowing them to explore dungeons in any order they want, adding a new level of freedom to the game play.

 

New Wii U Bundle Features Skylanders Swap Force, Nintendo Land

The bundle includes everything needed to start the new adventure, including a white Wii U Basic system; Skylanders SWAP Force Starter Pack, which includes Skyalnders Swap Force Wii U software, Portal of Power, three Skylanders figures, two Swap Force characters, a collector poster, trading cards, and sticker sheets;  and a Nintendo Land game disc.
