A pair of new and familiar faces were appointed to Spin Master‘s board of directors during the company’s Annual Meeting of Shareholders.
Reggie Fils-Aimé, former president and COO at Nintendo of America has joined the board alongside Christina Miller, former president of WarnerMedia‘s Kids, Young Adults, and Classic division. The appointments are immediate.
The Toronto-based toy and entertainment company says that it expects the new additions to bolster the board’s experience in two key areas that the company looks to hone in on: entertainment and digital gaming.
Fils-Aimé, who retired from Nintendo last year, is a particularly beloved figure in the gaming industry and has remained active on social media since founding Brentwood Growth Partners and becoming the inaugural Leader in Residence for Cornell Dyson. He joined GameStop‘s board of directors earlier this year.
On a call with investors last week, Spin Master followed its first-quarter earnings results with updates on new product launches and upcoming entertainment projects for the year ahead. The biggest include the fall debut of PAW Patrol Dino Rescue, the train-focused Mighty Express, and next year’s PAW Patrol: The Movie, which is being created by Paramount Pictures for a theatrical release.
