The LEGO Group recently broke ground on its planned expansion to its headquarters in Billund, Denmark. Now, the company has revealed newly revised plans for the process.

The Innovation Campus will be the company’s third large campus area in Billund and will begin construction in 2024. The initial plan, to build an office building in the center of Billund, has been modified due to an anticipated increase in employees.

“With Innovation Campus we want to create a truly inspiring workspace that allows us to continue to deliver irresistible LEGO building and play experiences to all fans of LEGO — adults and kids around the world,” says Julia Goldin, chief product and marketing officer. “This is an investment in our people and our brand, and I am excited by the prospect of creating an environment that fuels passion and fosters creativity and innovation.”

The new campus is going to add space for thousands of LEGO employees. With more than 400,000 square feet of room, the impressive building will be a space for those working within Product Marketing and Development as well as Engineering and Quality. Though initial plans indicated a completion date of 2025, the new Innovation Campus in Billund is now scheduled to open in 2027.
