ASTRA has unveiled its 2022 Best Toys for Kids winners. 

ASTRA’s 2022 Marketplace & Academy opened this weekend in Long Beach, California, and with it came the American Specialty Toy Retailing Association’s picks for best kids’ toys. The group picked twelve winning toys in twelve categories. 

“ASTRA’s Best Toys for Kids award program reflects the collective expertise of hundreds of toy retailers who know toys inside out,” says Sue Warfield, president of ASTRA. “The list of winners represents the best of the fun, top-quality, high play value products consumers can find in locally-owned neighborhood toy stores around the country.” 

The 2022 Best Toys for kids are as follows: 

Preschool Games: Pancake Monster (Blue Orange Games)

Games 5-7: Cowpie Catapults (The Good Game Co.)

Games 8-10: Forklift Frenzy (Fat Brain Toy Co.)

Active Play: Dueling Stomp Rockets (Stomp Rocket)

Arts & Crafts: Build & Grow Tree House (Faber-Castell/Creativity for Kids)

Building: Builder Set (Magna-Tiles)

Educational: Dig it Up! Glow in the Dark Dinosaur Eggs (MW Wholesale), pictured top left

Preschool: Roboflex (Smart Toys & Games)

Pretend Play: Super Cityscape Transport Bucket Set (Hape), pictured top right

Puzzles: 800-Piece Earth Puzzle by Number (Plus-Plus)

Science: Ultra Bionic Blaster (Thames and Kosmos)

Sensory: Mermaid Lagoon (Faber-Castell/Creativity for Kids)

ASTRA previously announced its 2022 Excellence Award Winners, which will be celebrated in a special presentation today, June 13, at ASTRA’s 2022 Marketplace & Academy.
