In celebration of the longest-ruling monarch in British history, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is receiving the Barbie royal treatment with a new Tribute Collection doll to her likeness.
The Barbie Tribute Collection series launched last year paying homage to American actress and entertainment trailblazer Lucille Ball. Now, just in time for her 96th birthday, Barbie will recognize the Queen with a tribute doll inspired by her most iconic looks.
Queen Elizabeth Barbie is dressed in an elegant ivory gown and a royal blue sash across her chest, proudly boasting three Royal Family Orders medallions. Every facet of the doll is designed with detail, from the jeweled crown atop her head to the diamond earrings hanging from her ears. The doll comes packaged in a throne-like box inspired by Buckingham Palace that features a crest-shaped logo and a badge commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Queen’s rule.
“Queen Elizabeth II’s reign has been one of extraordinary impact, holding a position that few women have,” says historian and Professor Kate Williams, author of Our Queen Elizabeth. “As Her Majesty celebrates this milestone jubilee it is wonderful to see an iconic brand like Barbie share important historical female figures’ impact as leaders, creators and pioneers to new generations.”
Starting tomorrow, April 21, the Queen Elizabeth II Tribute Doll will be available to shop at Amazon, Walmart, Target, and Mattel for $75.
