In honor of its 25th Anniversary, Build-A-Bear Workshop is expanding into the Web3 realm by offering NFTs in partnership with Sweet.

The three-part launch will take place on Oct. 4, during which Build-A-Bear will offer an auction for a Limited Edition NFT Collectible Bear featuring Swarovski Crystals. The auction will run through Oct. 6 with bidding starting at $2500. The winner of the auction will receive a physical version of the bear, along with its NFT, as well as a trip for two people to Build-A-Bear’s 25th Anniversary Gala in St. Louis.

“[The entry into Web3] is not only an acknowledgment of the accomplishments over our first 25 years but a look ahead to new ground-breaking opportunities for our company,” says Build-A-Bear Workshop CEO Sharon Price John. “This announcement speaks to our future in a world that is increasingly about the physical blending with the digital.”

10% of the sale price of the limited edition bear will be donated to the Build-A-Bear Foundation, which has previously donated over $22 million and 1.5 million stuffed animals to a variety of charities worldwide.

In the second phase of the launch, Build-A-Bear will hold a second auction in November, auctioning off five 1/1 Silver-themed Bear NFTs, along with matching physical bears to accompany each NFT. In December, Build-A-Bear will offer the chance to purchase randomized bear-themed generative NFTs, each with its own qualities and characteristics.

Each of the NFTs will be accessible on the Polygon network.
