It’s been a rough few years for Distroller World.
The retail entertainment brand followed international success with an entry into the U.S. market in 2017 that brought with it an e-commerce business and physical stores in San Diego, Houston, and Glendale, California. Then, on the cusp of the COVID-19 pandemic, the company behind the colorful Neonate Babies, Chamoy & Amiguis, and Virgencita Plis brands revealed plans to shutter its permanent stores in favor of pop-ups that never materialized.
Now, just months after the unexpected passing of its founder, Amparo Serrano — known to many fans as Amparín — the company has ceased its U.S. operations.
“We are so thankful for the community of Distroller fans and the support we received in the U.S.,” says Distroller Marketing Director Maribel Préstamo. “As we choose to restructure our company strategies in 2023, we happily reflect back on the wonderful memories we have made with our U.S. stores and our online community.”
Back in May, Distroller returned to Licensing Expo in Las Vegas with a colorful booth brimming with opportunities.
The company says that all U.S. orders placed on its website prior to Dec. 15 will be delivered no later than Dec. 31.
Distroller World will continue sales and operations throughout Mexico and Latin America.
