Educational Insights introduces Artie 3000, a new coding robot for kids. The educational toy made its first appearance at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas this week.
A popular activity in schools as part of STEM and STEAM curriculum, interest in coding has increased in recent years. In a survey from Educational Insights and American Mensa, 96 percent of parents surveyed stated they believe coding principles will help kids regardless of their future career paths. Artie 3000 aims to teach kids the fundamentals of coding through the creation of colorful drawings fueled by drag-and-drop code for real-world payoff.
Kids can watch Artie draw what’s been coded, line by line, moving forward, backward, and spinning in any direction while lifting and lowering four thin-tip, colored markers. Beyond free-form coding, Artie is pre-programmed with a variety of designs like numbers and letters, shapes, games, and line-art for coloring.
Educational Insights has collaborated with Mensa For Kids on a series of ARTIE activities for professional educators and parents alike, all downloadable at www.codewithartie.com.
