Magformers is making moves to bolster its operations in the U.S. and beyond.

The company tapped toy industry veteran Erik Quam to serve as its new President of North America Operations. Quam joins the company from Harbor Freight Tools, prior to which he held longstanding roles at Fat Brain Toys and Mindware.

In his new role, Quam will draw from his background in product development, sourcing, merchandising, sales, international distribution, catalog, and inventor relations to steer the Magformers business into the future.

“Magformers is an incredible company, and I am excited by the opportunity to lead the company and oversee the North American team,” Quam says. “As a leader in the magnetic building toy space, I see tremendous opportunity to further grow the Magformers brand and corresponding product line. Furthermore, I’m looking forward to seeing how we can further inspire and educate the creators of tomorrow.”

Quam is based in Louisville, Nebraska, and is a previous board member of The American Specialty Toy Retailing Association (ASTRA) and also served as chair of the ASTRA board of directors.
