Flat River Group is continuing to strategically gobble up companies like Pac-Man.
The first party e-commerce partner and distributor of toys, games, and other consumer products inked deals to acquire two more companies: Luma Imports and Synapses Games.
Delaware-based Luma Imports is a game distributor that represents the English-language catalogs for multiple European game publishers, including Horrible Guild, Bombyx Studios, Sit Down, Holy Grail Games, and others.
Montreal-based Synapses Games is a tabletop publisher and design house that is distributed by Luma Imports. Its game portfolio includes the upcoming Betta and Draw the Line and the award-winning Cóatl.
“We’ve worked with Jules [Vautor, Luma Imports] and Carl [Brière, Synapses Games] for almost a decade, and we place a great value on their skills and relationships in the industry,” says Flat River Group President Matt Stahlin. “We are excited about what this means for our ability to find great games earlier in their life cycle and get them into the hands of consumers through both hobby and mass retail channels. This fits in well with our recent acquisition of Greater than Games.”
Vautor and Brière worked together previously at both CMON and Asmodee USA and will still be involved with the business as ownership transitions to Flat River Group.
In recent months, Flat River Group has inked a distribution partnership with French board game publisher IELLO and has expanded its purchasing team.
