During its first-quarter earnings call, Washington-based Funko revealed that it appointed Ginny McCormick as chief marketing officer.
McCormick joins the company from Hasbro, where she spent nearly a decade in various positions. Most recently, she established and led the toymaker’s global integrated media organization, leading strategy, investment, and measurement for more than 20 brands across 34 markets.
She previously held positions at Mattel and Reebok, and is an experienced marketer who has worked in brand management, toy product development, and digital licensing.
According to Funko CEO Brian Mariotti, McCormick joined the company in March.
Funko joined much of the toy and collectibles industry in taking a hit in the first quarter of 2020 as it began feeling the impact of COVID-19. The company cautions that the real challenges lie in the second quarter, but says it feels confident in new product offerings planned for the back half of the year
