Hasbro is expanding its Monopoly line with the new, tech-based Monopoly App Banking Board Game. This edition replaces physical Monopoly money with an app that serves as the Bank and Banker.
Players move tokens around the board and collect cards like in the classic game, but property acquisition and the exchange of money occur in the free Monopoly App Banking app. Kids can scan Title Deeds and other action cards, then auction, buy, and collect rent through the app. Instead of cash, they choose one Bank Card to track their money flow.

Families can also play augmented reality-enhanced mini games by scanning the QR codes on Free Parking, Jail, and Railroad spaces. The new board game features kid-inspired properties and tokens as well. Players can attempt to secure the Mythical Stable, Ice Cream Skating Park, Trampoline Mansion, and Rocket Launch Pad. Since a smart device is required for gameplay, it includes a phone stand.
The tap-to-pay experience mirrors modern banking, as kids mimic their parents’ mobile banking movements. It encourages safe phone use and tech literacy, as kids are in charge of their own Bank Card.
