Netflix is expanding its kids and family offerings with a mix of interactive play, new series, and returning favorites, anchored by the launch of a new gaming hub called Netflix Playground.

Designed for kids ages 8 and under, Netflix Playground offers an ad-free, subscription-included space where children can play games featuring popular characters from franchises such as Peppa Pig and Sesame Street. The app is available in select markets, including the U.S., with a global rollout planned for April 28. Activities are playable offline and require no in-app purchases.

“We’re building a world where kids can not only watch their favorite stories, they can step inside them and interact with their favorite characters,” says John Derderian, Netflix Vice President of Animation Series + Kids & Family TV. “We’re creating a seamless destination for discovery, learning, and play. Whether it’s reuniting with Hank and the Trash Truck crew for new adventures or making a smoothie with Peppa Pig, watching and playing on Netflix can be the fun and easiest part of every family’s day.”

The platform features a growing library of interactive titles inspired by brands such as Horton Hears a Who!, StoryBots, and The Sneetches, blending gameplay with early learning concepts like pattern recognition, creativity, and problem-solving.

Alongside the app launch, Netflix confirmed the renewal of Trash Truck for a third season and additional episodes of The Creature Cases. A new preschool series, Young MacDonald, will also join the lineup, introducing a musical, farm-based adventure focused on teamwork and learning.

Upcoming content releases include new installments of CoComelon Lane, Sesame Street, and Ms. Rachel, along with additional episodes of Mark Rober’s CrunchLabs. Netflix will also debut Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie on the platform in May.

The expansion reflects Netflix’s continued investment in kids’ entertainment, combining streaming content with interactive experiences aimed at fostering creativity, exploration, and engagement in a controlled digital environment.
