Learning Resources is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year with the launch of a new sustainable product line.
Learning Resources is known for its educational toy offerings, with everything from color sorting sets to robots that teach kids to code. The company has released a new line of products designed with the environment in mind — in more ways than one. Its newest nature-themed toys are made with recycled plastic and offer educational play to preschoolers.
The collection includes four new toys. The Growing Greenhouse Color & Number Playset includes color-matching flowers and pots, a working watering can, and a guide with sustainability facts for kids. The Hide & Seek Vegetable Garden is also designed to encourage color learning, as well as counting and memory skills. It includes five pots, four vegetables, a bunny, and a guide with sustainability facts. Kids can play a game of search-and-match as they look for the hidden bunny.
The Peekaboo Gnome Homes set includes five miniature homes in a variety of colors and sizes, as well as a guide with gnome facts. Finally, the Blooming Balance Bees Fine Motor Sorting Set has everything needed to help kids develop fine motor skills. The set includes a wobbling flower base with folding petals, several plastic bees, fine motor tongs, and a guide with sustainability facts.
This new line of toys not only reflects our dedication to reducing Learning Resources’ environmental footprint, but showcases our focus on creating timeless and durable toys that empower multigenerational and lasting play.
Sustainability continues to be an important trend within the toy industry. The Toy Association named ECO-Lasting Play as one of its top trends for 2024 in its Toy Trends Briefing this year. A survey conducted by the organization indicated that 45% of parents in the U.S. under 40 consider a toy’s environmental impact.
The new recycled plastic toys from Learning Resources are available now at learningresources.com and major online retailers. Additional sustainability efforts from Learning Resources include recycled packaging, energy-efficient updates to office lighting, and more.
