With big personality comes big heart, and no one proves that more than the L.O.L. Surprise dolls. Just in time for Earth Day (April 22), these glam girls are showing love to the Blue Planet with new, sustainable packaging.
The spherical packaging central to the L.O.L. brand will be swapping plastic for natural materials like bamboo, wood, and sugar cane. As part of the L.O.L. Surprise Earth Love activation, the new spheres will be entirely compostable, while maintaining the same unboxing experience as the previous models.
By Fall 2022, MGAE plans to transition about 65 percent of their L.O.L. Surprise plastic balls to the sustainable packaging at all retailers. It is estimated that about 45 million L.O.L. Surprise! toys will be produced with sustainable packaging, representing at least three metric tons of plastic eliminated from the toy line in 2022.
To celebrate this milestone, L.O.L. Surprise is introducing two new green queens to its collection of dolls: Earthy B.B. and Grow Grrrl. These new dolls come with gardening accessories and can be found exclusively at Walmart.
Additionally, recycling options for L.O.L. Surprise dolls and packaging continue to be offered by TerraCycle.
