Outright Games and MGA Entertainment have released Rainbow High: Runway Rush across several gaming platforms. This marks the first video game inspired by the Netflix and YouTube series and fashion doll line Rainbow High. The dolls represent colors of the rainbow and encourage creativity through friendship.

“In just three short years Rainbow High has revolutionized the fashion doll category and we are thrilled to see continued growth for the brand, with its first-ever console video game,” says Isaac Larian, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of MGA Entertainment. “Our core value for Rainbow High is to have fans let their true colors shine and they will be able to do this in an all-new way, as they immerse themselves as a student and step into an interactive world.”

Fans of the show and dolls can play as one of the six original Rainbow High characters. After selecting Ruby, Poppy, Violet, Skyler, Sunny, or Jade, players can attend Rainbow High creative arts school, help with a big creative project, and complete a variety of puzzles.

“Rainbow High has fast established itself as the defining fashion doll brand for Generation Alpha. With our new game, fans will have an entirely new way to interact with this world [and] its beloved characters and develop their creativity in a way that has been tailor-made for our audience,” says Stephanie Malham, Chief Operating Officer of Outright Games.

Players can also exit the main story mode to collect diamonds and unlockable outfits, or play a mini game unique to their chosen character. Players can take photos with Violet, create kawaii illustrations with Sunny, and design clothes with Skyler. The puzzle adventure game also features recognizable locations from the series. Players have the opportunity to make croissants in the Rainbow Union, venture through Sunny’s bedroom, and more.

Younger gamers can play confidently at their own pace with the help of the “hint scan” function, which highlights interactive elements and guides players to the next step.

“As a developer, it was an exciting challenge to adapt the world of Rainbow High into a puzzle adventure game,” says Carla Bolaños Blanco, Game Designer at Xaloc Studios, an independent game development studio that worked in collaboration with Outright Games. “We incorporated the key brand positioning enabling players to enter the magical world of rainbows, creativity, and friendship where they can live up to their potential, roam their favorite locations, and interact with their favorite characters.”

Rainbow High: Runway Rush is available now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and PC. For more information, visit mgae.com.
