Hasbro Reports Q3 2017 Financial Results

Hasbro Inc. reported financial results for the third quarter 2017. Highlights include net revenues for the third quarter 2017 increasing 7 percent to $1.79 billion versus $1.68 billion in 2016. Third quarter 2017 revenues include a favorable $29.6 million impact from foreign exchange. Net earnings for the third quarter 2017 increased 3 percent to $265.6 million compared to $257.8 million in 2016.  Third quarter 2017 franchise brand revenues increased 7 percent to $827.3 million driven by revenue growth in Nerf, Transformers, My Little Pony, and Monopoly. Partner brand revenues decreased 2 percent to $485.7 million. Hasbro unveiled additional programming details for its first-ever HASCON FANmily Event happening September 8 to 10 at the Rhode Island Convention Center and Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island. Hasbro Showcases Its Franchise Brands at the International Licensing Expo

Hasbro, Inc. showcased its global franchise brands, including Transformers, Nerf, My Little Pony, Littlest Pet Shop, Play-Doh, Magic: The Gathering, and Monopoly, at the International Licensing Expo on June 18. This year’s lineup highlights the company’s effort to market brand extensions across licensing categories such as publishing, digital gaming, apparel and plush, homewares, food, health, and beauty. Hasbro’s Transformers brand  features the Autobots and Decepticons engaged in battle on multiple storytelling platforms, including film, TV, digital gaming, publishing, and theme parks. Gary Games and Dr. Garfield Launch Kickstarter Campaign for New Game

Gary Games is partnering with Magic: The Gathering creator, Dr. Richard Garfield, to develop a new digital collectible game, SolForge. Gary Games and Dr. Garfield launched a Kickstarter campaign on August 1 to help fund the game’s development. Combining a traditional trading card game with the use of an online and mobile gaming platform, the core mechanic of SolForge will be card transformation, where players’ cards will change and level up as they are played. In addition to transforming cards, SolForge will offer players a single-player campaign where their in-game actions can directly impact the story of the world. In SolForge’s Player vs. Player mode, players can challenge friends to matches in a variety of game play formats. SolForge will launch initially on iOS, with plans to launch on other platforms in the future. Those who pledge $15 on Kickstarter will gain access to the game’s beta test, a unique Kickstarter-only Avatar to show off support in-game and five free booster packs to start off the card collection when the game goes live.
