Ahead of PAW Patrol’s 10th anniversary next year, Paramount Consumer Products and Experiences UK honored six brave kids with trophies at a London awards ceremony.
These awards are part of Paramount’s yearlong Calling All Heroes brand marketing initiative celebrating heroism, a main tenet of the animated TV series. Out of thousands of entries, six winners were selected by media partner Netmums with categories based on key PAW Patrol character attributes. In addition to winning a VIP trip to London to attend the ceremony, the kids were presented the awards by their favorite characters and received a gift of toys from Spin Master and a family ticket to Nickelodeon Land.
Each award featured its own show-themed name and one winner. The Rubble Award for Courage was won by 5-year-old Hari from London, who endured a grueling 18-month treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia. After losing the ability to walk, he’s now back on track and an avid cyclist. Four-year-old Esme from Wales won the Skye Award for Kindness after a proven track record of putting others first while living with Neurofibromatosis Type 1. She uses her journey to help people with similar conditions by fundraising for Nervetumours UK.
The Ryder Award for Sporting Achievement was won by 4-year-old Northern Ireland boy Milo, who has overcome the restrictions of hypotonic cerebral palsy to win a foot race. Although he’s wheelchair-bound for longer distances, the COVID-19 pandemic provided his family the chance to create their own obstacle courses at home. While the winner of the Chase Award for Leadership does not have a medical condition, 9-year-old Sennen from southeast England has been raising money for brain tumor charities after her father was diagnosed in 2018.
It’s only appropriate that the winner of the Rocky Award for Caring for Our Planet was won by a boy who lives by Rocky’s motto of “Don’t lose it, reuse it!” Five-year-old Zakariya from Nottingham uses leftover items such as cardboard boxes to make new toys. The last award, the Marshall Award for Community Hero, was won by 5-year-old Amyra from Newcastle, a runner who fundraises with her own two feet to help those who are unwell or less fortunate than herself.
“The annual PAW Patrol Awards symbolize the brand values of bravery and adventure that we all know and love from the show,” says Venetia Davie, Paramount Consumer Products and Experiences vice president UK, Ireland, Israel, and ANZ. “As we set the wheels in motion for the 10th anniversary of PAW Patrol, which will be celebrated throughout 2023, we’re delighted to pay tribute to these special little heroes and to give them the recognition which they so deserve.”
As 2023 inches near, keep an eye out for what Paramount Consumer Products and Experiences UK, along with Spin Master, has planned for the PAW Patrol property.
