The Toy Book 40th Anniversary

The Toy Book will officially kick off its 40th-anniversary celebration when Volume 40, No. 1 hits mailboxes across North America beginning February 26. Now, we’re inviting all of you to participate in the milestone by sharing testimonials — your own Toy Book story!*

In 1984, while the dust was settling from the Cabbage Patch Kids craze of ’83 and the Robots in Disguise were getting ready to “roll out,” the original editorial team began work on The Toy Book, Vol. 1, No. 1, which debuted in print at the North American International Toy Fair in February 1985. Along the way, familiar features began to emerge, including The Toy Report newsletter which members of the toy industry received via fax!

To join the fun, please send a short testimonial about what The Toy Book means to you to james@toybook.com along with your name and title as you’d like it to appear in print. You can also include a headshot if you so desire.

The Toy Book has been on the #pulseofplay for 40 years, and we’re just getting started!

*Select testimonials will appear across our platforms, including the website, print magazine, social media, and promotional materials throughout the year.
