It’s not a bird or a plane, but two new DC-inspired attractions flying toward Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.
Warner Bros. has partnered with Miral to create new Superman-themed thrill rides for its award-winning indoor theme park, Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi. The first, Kryptonite Collider, is expected to open July 26, while Superman Up and Away will complete construction in 2028. Together, these rides mark a major step forward in the park’s ongoing expansion.
Opening in the heart of Metropolis land, Kryptonite Collider is a centrifuge-style attraction that invites guests to be “test subjects” for Lex Luthor’s Everyman Project. Inside the 32-person ride vehicle, integrated lights and sounds immerse fans in the story as they zoom through the air, whipping in circles to create a powerful vortex. The fun continues after the ride, with interactive digital screens that complete the adventure.
Meanwhile, Superman Up and Away will be a classic roller coaster ride with a heroic twist. Instead of sitting forward, this flying coaster launches guests face-down, allowing them to fly alongside Superman as they soar through the fictional city of Metropolis. This ride is projected to open in 2028, with more details to come closer to launch.
“At Warner Bros., our fans are our single focus, inspiring us to push the boundaries of how we bring our iconic characters and their universes to life,” Simon Robinson, President, Global Experiences & Studio Operations at Warner Bros. Discovery, says. “These new DC attractions reflect our ongoing commitment to innovation and storytelling at the highest level, and, in collaboration with our partners at Miral, we are embarking on an exciting new chapter for Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi. We can’t wait to see fans experience a bold new side of Metropolis.”
Kryptonite Collider is on track to open this July, while Superman Up and Away is slated for a 2028 launch. For more information, visit wbworldabudhabi.com.
