YuMe Toys is expanding its retail presence with the rollout of the YuMe Smart Machine, a fully managed “retail-tainment” platform designed to drive incremental revenue, increase in-store engagement, and reduce inventory loss for retailers.

The plug-and-play Smart Machine converts underutilized retail space into a secure, cashless collectibles destination, offering retailers a hands-off solution with no capital investment, staffing requirements, or replenishment responsibilities. Inventory is fully managed, remotely monitored, and serviced by YuMe, eliminating theft risk while optimizing product rotation.

The Smart Machine was first introduced at New York Comic Con (NYCC) last fall and has since completed successful trials across the U.S. Built for today’s collectibles market, the system supports multiple product formats and features a touchscreen interface with a gamified purchasing experience designed to encourage impulse buys, repeat visits, and longer dwell time.

“Retailers are facing numerous challenges and are being asked to do more with less while managing rising theft and shrinking margins,” said Michael Kwan, CEO of YuMe Toys. “The YuMe Smart Machine helps turn underutilized space into a fun, revenue-generating experience that works for shoppers and retailers alike, guaranteeing stock is not lost.”

Each unit features a rotating assortment of licensed collectibles tied to major entertainment brands, appealing to both kids and collectors while encouraging repeat engagement. With a compact footprint and visually engaging design, the machines are suited for toy stores, mass merchants, malls, entertainment venues, and travel locations.

YuMe plans a broader rollout throughout 2026. Retail buyers can see the Smart Machine in action at Toy Fair, held Feb. 14-17, and Los Angeles Toy Previews in April, held April 20-24, with additional demonstrations available upon request.
