The revamped Rubie’s Costume Co. is looking ahead to its first full Halloween season under new ownership from NECA.

This year, Rubie’s is betting big on a refreshed assortment of costumes and accessories inspired by upcoming theatrical releases from Warner Bros., MGM, and ViacomCBS to stand out in an increasingly competitive market for Halloween, everyday dress-up, and cosplay products.

Rubie’s is hitting the court with the Tune Squad and Goon Squad with products inspired by Warner Bros.’ Space Jam: A New Legacy, including full costumes, basketball uniform shirts, and masks, featuring Bugs Bunny, Lola Bunny, Daffy Duck, Taz. Characters from Warner Bros’ DC stable are also entering the fray with a new assortment of costumes based on The Suicide Squad for kids, adults, and pets.

Additional products will be rolling out for MGM’s The Addams Family 2; Paramount Pictures, Spin Master Entertainment, and Nickelodeon Movies’ PAW Patrol: The Movie; and Paramount Pictures’ Top Gun: Maverick.

“The future is bright at Rubie’s,” says managing partner Joel Weinshanker. “We will continue to dominate the Halloween space, and make it even clearer to everyone that there is only one place like home for Halloween — Rubie’s.”

Costumes and accessories from Rubies are sold at most major retailers.

Last October, Rubie’s emerged from bankruptcy as Rubies II LLC, a newly-formed entity owned by strategic operator and managing partner Joel Weinshanker — majority owner of Elvis Presley Enterprises; managing partner of Graceland Holdings; and the sole member, chairman, and founder of NECA — with funds managed by Atalaya Capital Management LP and members of the Beige family, carrying on the lineage of the founders and previous family ownership.
