Strider Bikes Rolls Out Revamped Line of Balance Bikes

StriderBikesStrider Sports Intl. Inc. has unveiled an expanded line of their best-selling 12-inch bikes for 18 month to 5-year-old children. These balance bikes will now be available in three unique models: 12 Classic, which is the skill-building, entry-level model; 12 Sport, which is the feature-rich, mid-level model; and 12 Pro, which is the all-aluminum, high-end model.

The new model names are intended to assist consumers in finding the Strider bike best suited for their children and their budget. All three models feature ultra-light-molded wheels, premium sealed cartridge wheel bearings, flat-free EVA polymer tires, and integrated footrests.

BAE Systems Employees Donate New Bikes, Safety Helmets to Military Families

BikeDriveBAE Systems employees have presented military families across the San Diego area with new bicycles, safety helmets, and toys during the holiday season. The employees in Rancho Bernardo have raised enough money through fundraising events and personal contributions to donate 500 new bikes and helmets.

The annual bike drive has taken place since 1995, and employees have raised funds to donate more than 9,000 bicycles for San Diego families over the years. Additionally, bicycle maker Huffy has provided discounts on bikes and tricycles, and Bell has offered helmets at a reduced cost for the effort.

Marvel Entertainment Partners with Huffy for New Bicycle Line

Spider-ManMarvel Entertainment LLC and Huffy have announced that they will develop a new line of bicycles, tricycles, scooters, and accessories. The new products will be an expansion in the bike category for Marvel.

The new line will launch in stores in the spring and fall of next year. The addition of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy also introduces Marvel’s newest heroes.

The Spider-Man bike is the first in the category to feature the character’s web design as a web trap which holds villain and hero toys. Another version of the bike includes a special plastic web-frame design. Scooters and tricycles feature interactive lights and sounds. The Huffy line of Marvel products will include multiple designs at top retail stores across the U.S.

Schwinn Calls for Americans to “Go For a Ride” in Multi-Million Dollar Campaign

Schwinn, the American bicycle manufacturer, is inviting Americans to “go for a ride” as part of a major brand relaunch and integrated national advertising and marketing program.

The multi-million dollar campaign, which launches nationwide this week, will feature the Schwinn bicycle bell as a thematic centerpiece representing “a call to action to reconnect with what’s important in life.” Print and television ads, as well as a digital campaign, will feature messages such as “Never stop and smell the cubicles,” “The world needs a recess bell,” and “You can’t text message your inner child,” urging Americans to get outside and get riding.

Consumers will be directed to www.RideSchwinn.com, which will provide simple tips on finding the right bike and where to buy it. Additionally, a downloadable application for mobile phones will give riding and fitness tips along with local route information.
