Meccano Toy Company’s popular Erector Set will soon hit the big screen in an original 3-D feature film based on the children’s construction toys. Helix Films, an independent production company, will develop the film, which will be the first time Meccano has licensed film rights to its toys.
The details of the plotline are being kept a secret, however the production company has stated the film will be a family fantasy/adventure. A possible film franchise could also expand to other entertainment platforms including television and video games. Meccano/Erector set toy products are currently sold in more than 80 countries.
