2022 Toy of the Year (TOTY) Awards | Source: The Toy Association

The Toy Association is taking a new direction with the Toy of the Year (TOTY) Awards this year, repositioning it as a Toy Foundation event to better reflect the true purpose of the program. The Toy Foundation has opened up nominations for products in the toy, game, and license categories through Aug. 31. Proceeds from the TOTYs benefit the Foundation in its mission to deliver toys to kids in need. Finalists will be selected by a committee comprised of play experts, journalists, academics, retailers, and other toy experts and will be revealed in November.

2022 TOY OF THE YEAR CATEGORIES:

  • Action Figure of the Year
  • Collectible of the Year
  • Construction Toy of the Year
  • Creative Toy of the Year
  • Doll of the Year
  • Game of the Year
  • Grown-Up Toy of the Year (New for 2022)
  • Infant/Toddler Toy of the Year
  • License of the Year
  • Outdoor Toy of the Year
  • Playset of the Year
  • Plush Toy of the Year
  • Preschool Toy of the Year
  • Specialty Toy of the Year
  • STEAM Toy of the Year
  • Vehicle of the Year
  • People’s Choice Toy of the Year
  • Toy of the Year

Toy companies, inventors, and other industry reps may submit their products and properties in the first 16 of the above-listed categories. One winner in each category, along with the consumer-chosen People’s Choice award and the overall Toy of the Year Award will be presented during the TOTY Ceremony at the New York Marriott Marquis, on Feb. 18, 2022.
