Day 6 Sports Group has signed Andrew McCutchen to be the face of its Backyard Sports Baseball line. The company is working with Major League Baseball (MLB), mlb.com, and the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA) for its re-launch of the Backyard Sports franchise.
“Re-launching Backyard Sports in partnership with MLB, mlb.com, and MLBPA is an exciting milestone for us,” says Ronnie Frankowski, chief marketing officer, Day 6 Sports Group. “And having a brand ambassador on our team as talented and electric as Andrew is simply thrilling.”
The digital game series, originally launched in 1997, features kid versions of popular professional sports stars and is making its return on mobile gaming platforms this spring. The brand is also introducing a new line of smart sports toys, which interact with the digital games to encourage kids to lead more active, healthy lifestyles.
An All-Star center fielder, McCutchen plays for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He is the first MLB player to sign an endorsement deal with the franchise.
