Nintendo celebrated Mario Day, March 10 (aka MAR10 Day) with a special event at Nintendo New York. The Rockefeller Plaza flagship store welcomed thousands of visitors eager to meet characters, take part in Mushroom Kingdom-themed activities, and play the latest Mario games on Nintendo Switch. The NYC activation kicked-off a weeklong promotion from Nintendo of America, in which families across the country can take advantage of Mario-centric deals from retail partners such as GameStop, Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and Walmart.

Among the sales-building initiatives are specially priced Nintendo Switch bundles for families looking to get into the game, and specially priced Mario software titles for those who already own a Switch system.
Nintendo New York is a two-story, 10,000-square-foot experiential retail location that first opened as The Pokémon Center in 2001. The store was renamed Nintendo World in 2005. Following a 2016 remodel, the store became known as Nintendo New York. Its first-ever sister location, Nintendo Tokyo, is expected to open in Japan this fall.
