Activision Publishing has created a comprehensive global kids licensing program for Skylanders this year. The recently announced Skylanders SuperChargers will bring vehicles to life, and, for the first time, players can rude their bikes over land, sea, and sky using toy vehicles brought to life within the game.
Skylanders partnership and licensing for 2015 include McDonald’s for Skylanders characters to appear Happy Meals; Party City for a three-foot Skylanders section; Fathead for life-sized wall decals, featuring fan favorites like Eruptor, Spyro, Kaos, and Stealth Elf; NKOK for two RC cars with working headlights to come out this fall; Punch Bowl for on-demand branded party invitations.
Additional licensees include Power A for carrying cases and game accessories; Rubie’s Costumes for a new Kaos Halloween costume; Mad Dog Concepts for sleepwear; Issac Morris for sportswear; Mad Engine for apparel; Thermos for lunch kits and FUNtainers; FAB for backpacks and school supplies; Penguin for publishing; Crayola for activities; American Greetings for party goods and supplies; Franco for bedding; Camelot for fabric; Aso for bandages; IDW for comics; AME for sleepwear; and York Wall Coverings for clings.
Since launching in 2011, the Skylanders franchise has generated more than $3 billion in retail sales worldwide, has sold more than 250 million toys worldwide. The game has been the #1 kids’ console video game franchise, including toys and accessories, for three consecutive years.
