Barbie is trading the DreamHouse for the science lab.
Blue Marble launched its new Barbie STEAM Lab collection at Walmart on July 18, pairing Mattel’s iconic doll brand with hands-on activities rooted in chemistry, geology, biology, and creative experimentation. It’s a stylish new addition to the activities aisle.
The line was previewed at Toy Fair New York back in February and includes six kits built around different STEAM concepts. The Barbie Chemistry Activity Lab introduces colorful reactions, slime, fizzing experiments, and glowing creations, while the Barbie Slime Science Kit focuses on texture, materials, and the chemistry behind the evergreen and always popular slime.
Geology enters the mix with the Barbie Crystal Growing Kit, which kids can use to explore crystal formation and earth science. With the Barbie Crystal Jewelry Growing Kit, kids can turn their experiments into wearable creations.
The Barbie Sand Terrarium Activity Kit gives kids all the tools they need to build a tropical beach scene. The light-up terrarium comes with natural, blue, and purple play sands, two gemstones, a faux palm tree, and more.
Finally, the Barbie Gemstone Dig Kit combines excavation play and geology as kids dig through a car-shaped dig brick to discover chevron amethyst, rose quartz, and green fluorite specimens. It comes with a dig guide, and kids can turn their gems into a stylish bracelet at the end.

The line gives Blue Marble room to blend science with self-expression, an approach that fits naturally within Barbie’s world.
Walmart’s exclusivity window ends in mid-August, and Blue Marble expects select Barbie STEAM Lab products to reach additional retailers and Amazon later this month.
The company says that line extensions are on the way, with additional sets slated to launch throughout 2027 and 2028.
