She’s been a fashionista. She’s been a rockstar. She’s even been a nurse. Now, Barbie is experimenting with science with a new collection of activity kits from Blue Marble.
“The Barbie brand’s legacy is rooted in inspiring confidence, creativity, and possibility, and this collaboration with Blue Marble allows us to bring that promise to life through meaningful STEAM play,” shares Meredith Norrie, Vice President, Head of Global Consumer Products, Mattel. “By combining Barbie’s global reach with Blue Marble’s expertise in science-based innovation, we’re creating engaging, discovery-driven products that encourage kids to explore big ideas and imagine what they can become.”
Launching this summer, the line includes a variety of STEM and STEAM kits for kids ages 4 and up, each starring Mattel’s iconic doll. Blending real-world science and engineering concepts with fashion-filled fun, these products encourage kids to explore new skills with creativity, curiosity, and confidence — just like Barbie!
The crafts and activities will offer kids hands-on experience with the core tenets of STEAM education — science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. From creating glow-in-the-dark slime to building a working lava lamp, every experiment makes essential educational concepts approachable, accessible, and engaging for scientists of all levels and interests.
The Barbie STEAM kits will arrive at major retailers in the U.S. and Canada this summer. Blue Marble previews the new line at Toy Fair this weekend at Booth No. #5835.
