Mattel is teaming up with Justina Blakeney, the founder of home decor brand Jungalow, to revamp Barbie’s Dreamhouse living room on the @BarbieStyle Instagram profile.
This project features Blakeney’s signature style, complete with tons of texture, color, plants, and even Blakeney’s own published books on design. Using Barbie’s existing furniture, Blakeney created her vision by repainting furniture, reupholstering chairs, and hanging Jungalow-inspired artwork. Blakeney also dressed Barbie and her friends to fit the space perfectly.

“As a child, I used to build worlds for my Barbie dolls. I’d spend endless hours with my sister, Faith, crafting intricate realms, stitching tiny garments from vibrant fabrics, and fashioning furniture from corks, toothpicks, and bottle caps,” Blakeney says. “Early experiences like these introduced me to the magic of design and inspired me to become a designer and artist. For this partnership with @BarbieStyle, I created a place where Barbie can embrace her individuality, and be surrounded by a kaleidoscope of textures, hues, and plant life. We’ve recovered vintage furniture in new fabrics, upcycling and reinventing, just as we did as children.”
This collaboration is debuting on the Barbie Style Instagram account starting today, Dec. 15.
