Kellytoy Introduces the 500th Member of the Squishmallows Squad [UPDATED]

UPDATE: The Jack Squishmallow sold out in less than two hours.

The latest introduction to the Squishmallows Squad will support a good cause while simultaneously launching the new Squishmallows Select Series.

Kellytoy — a subsidiary of Jazwares — pulled back the curtain on Jack, the first limited-edition Squishmallow, and the first to be sold exclusively through the official Squishmallows website.

Jack is a 16-inch black cat that is limited to just 500 pieces available for sale. The Select Series offering includes a black matte hangtag and has a “500” emblem embroidered on its ear and on the gold, sewn-in-label.

“Meet Jack. He’s the strong silent type, but he’s always there when you need him. He’s not afraid to speak up for himself or for his friends. Jack can be a little feisty but he loves to cuddle. Jack loves giving back and thinks we should always lend a helping hand.”

Net proceeds from Jack’s sales will benefit the Compton Jr. Equestrians (CJE), a program developed to serve the inner city youth within the hub city of Compton, California, and surrounding areas. CJE was formed in response to the lack of unique programs available to at-risk youth within the community. Its mentors, including the Compton Cowboys, help students flourish through equestrian skills, academic tutoring, field trips, and leadership development.

“We’re so excited to support the mission of the Compton Jr. Equestrians and the kids and animals that benefit from the program,” says Kellytoy Co-President Jonathan Kelly. “It serves as a safe haven away from dangers such as gang violence, drugs, and poverty, and gives young riders a coping mechanism — whether bonding with the horses or building relationships that will last a lifetime.”

More than 55 million Squishmallows have sold since the brand was introduced in fall 2017. The full Squishmallows Squad is available in a multitude of different sizes that are available in more than 40 countries. Upcoming collections include the 2020 Holiday Squad, Halloween Squad, and The Child (Baby Yoda).

Jack is $39.99 plus shipping. As of this writing, Squishmallows fans are swarming the official website in hopes of scoring a snuggly cat of their own. Kellytoy expects to begin shipping Jack to fans next month.
