New data from Kids Insights found that gaming is one of the top ten hobbies for teenage girls in the UK.
Esports, or competitive gaming, is specifically gaining popularity among girls, with growth in participation outpacing boys’ in the 13 to 15 age category.
The report notes there is still a difference between the games the two genders play, with boys preferring games such as Fortnite while girls prefer collaborative and co-creation activities online.
