The spread of COVID-19 has created an unexpected side-effect: sales of puzzles and games are soaring.
As families spend more time together, interest in shared activities is increasing which has led to reports of puzzles being in big demand and short supply over the past few weeks.
Arizona-based MasterPieces kicked off its 25th anniversary by debuting its largest assortment of all-new puzzles that were ready for a spring launch. Like others in the space, the company was surprised by the unexpected surge in sales, but the spring products were already ready for shipment when demand began this month.
“I’m pleased that we have been able to be a resource for families during this time,” says David Rolls, president of MasterPieces, Inc.
The company’s digital storefront is open and offering direct shipping to consumers across the country. The Indiana warehouse is experiencing extended lead times due to COVID-19. Updates are being issued on the MasterPieces website.
The MasterPieces range includes The Right Fit labeling on many of its puzzles to ensure that parents buy puzzles that are appropriate for kids’ age and skill level.
“Puzzles can be a great learning tool for children in critical thinking and hand-eye coordination, but if they aren’t the right level of challenge for the child’s age, it can be frustrating instead of fun,” Rolls says. “We’ve freed consumers from the guesswork when picking out a puzzle for kids.”
The 2020 MasterPieces puzzle collection includes a large range of new designs that have been added across original and licensed lines.
