Audiences in Madrid, Spain were the first to experience Miraculous, Ladybug’s Show, a live musical family entertainment event produced by Proactiv and Planeta Junior.
More than 15,000 witnessed the live-action debut of Zag Animation‘s Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir across 12 performances of the Spanish production last month. More than 100 creatives were involved in the production, including Jeremy Zag, producer of the French animated series.
The Paris-set superhero saga has developed a growing international fan base hungry for the adventures of two seemingly typical teens with secret identities, Marinette and Adrien — who magically transform into superheroes, Ladybug and Cat Noir. Miraculous, Ladybug’s Show will embark on an international tour beginning later this year.
The tour will debut in France before heading off to countries throughout Europe and Latin America. More than 30 characters appear in the show, which also features new songs developed specifically for the stage.
A U.S. stage adaptation of Miraculous from Mills Entertainment was previously set to debut last year but has since been put on hold.
