What a weekend for NASCAR fans.
At Daytona International Speedway on Saturday, Paramount officially dropped the hammer on a Days of Thunder sequel starring Tom Cruise and Anne Hathaway, and Far Out Toys put its newest NASCAR toys in front of race fans of all ages.
The company debuted NASCAR Speedstars Aug. 29 during the Coke Zero Sugar 400 NASCAR Cup Series weekend, giving kids and families an early look at the character-driven pullback cars inside the NASCAR KidZone — Family Fun at Daytona.

The lineup puts personality behind the wheel with four racers: Jaw Dash No. 57, the group’s fierce leader; DOJO Master No. 49, a precision-focused competitor; Air Speed No. 91, built around lightning-fast speed; and Hair Raisin No. 35, the pack’s wild speed demon. Each vehicle features a pullback motor for racing play.
“Daytona is the perfect place to introduce NASCAR Speedstars to generations of NASCAR fans,” said Simon Waldron, Chief Commercial Officer at Far Out Toys. “We wanted to capture the excitement of NASCAR while creating characters with personalities that kids can connect with, race, and collect.”
The Daytona activation gave young fans a chance to race and play with the vehicles before their broader retail push, and driver AJ Allmendinger and his young son, Aero, took a break from their “Driveway Cup” to join the action before AJ suited up to pilot the No. 16 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in the race.
“NASCAR is always looking for new and innovative ways to bring the excitement of racing to younger fans, and NASCAR Speedstars delivers that in a fun and approachable way,” said Megan Malayter, Vice President of Licensing and Consumer Products at NASCAR.
NASCAR Speedstars began rolling out at Walmart in recent days. Each vehicle has an MSRP of $5.99 and targets little racers ages 4 and up.
The collection expands the ongoing product partnership between Far Out Toys and NASCAR, with an eye toward bringing younger fans into the sport through play.
