Mattel is expanding its Mattel Brick Shop Hot Wheels lineup with a Japanese racing icon straight out of Nissan’s garage.
Marking the brand’s first collaboration with Nissan, the new 833-piece building set re-creates the legendary 1971 Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R at 1:16 scale. The model debuted today at the 2026 Paris Motor Show in France, giving motorsport fans an up-close look at the buildable “Hakosuka” before it hits shelves in early 2027.
Decked out in its classic red-and-white racing livery, the Skyline perfectly mirrors the mechanics of its full-size counterpart, from its functional steering and doors to its front hood, which pops open to reveal a detailed engine. Builders can customize their collectible with decals and interchangeable wheel covers, then display it for all to see with a Hot Wheels signature metal plate. The kit also includes a matching 1:64 die-cast, exclusively available in the set.
The Mattel Brick Shop x Hot Wheels 1971 Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R will be available at major retailers for $59.99 beginning January 2027. To learn more, visit Mattel’s website.
