Paramont Global inked exclusive manufacturing and distribution agreement with Seedling.
The New Zealand-based Seedling gained popularity some years back with its expansive range of arts and crafts kits and pocket money toys including mazes and superhero capes. Under the new deal, Seedling will relaunch internationally with distribution in New Zealand and Australia remaining with Seedling.
“We are very excited by the opportunity to relaunch this well-recognized brand on the international market, says Jed Yan, global general manager, Paramont Global. “We will, of course, keep the iconic style of the brand, refocus on craft kits and pocket money, and will develop further products in due time.”
In the U.S., Seedling will be distributed by Weveel, a fully owned subsidiary of Paramont. Global distribution will be coordinated by Paramont’s Hong Kong office.
According to Seedling Managing Director Sonya Brooks, the new deal with Paramont will allow the team in New Zealand the opportunity to focus on design and brand development as the new products begin scaling internationally.
Yan says that the first new Seedling products are being planned for delivery in the third quarter of this year.
During Seedling’s initial launch in the U.S. market, the company had pop-up displays at retailers, including Macy’s flagships in Chicago and New York City, and gained celebrity fans including Jessica Alba, Soleil Moon Frye, and more.
