This year, The Toy Book is finding a new way to celebrate International Women’s Day.

On March 8, the toy community has the opportunity to showcase their newest products at The Play Date, the jointly sponsored event from Adventure Media & Events and The Toy Association. And now, the two have announced new events in partnership with Women in Toys, Licensing, & Entertainment (WIT) to celebrate International Women’s Day, which happens to take place the same day.

First, WIT will host a dedicated Women-Only Business area that promises to showcase products from women-led small businesses, along with background information on each company, product details, and contact information. For any companies interested in displaying in this area, please contact Adventure Media & Events’ James Devin.

WIT will also host a breakfast that aims to shine a spotlight on the impact of female entrepreneurs in the toy industry. The breakfast celebrates the contributions women have made and continue to make in the industry, creating a more inclusive and successful community for everyone.

“Women play a critical role in the toy industry as innovators and leaders,” says Kimberly Carcone, Executive Vice President of Global Market Events at The Toy Association. “Among our many goals [at The Toy Association] is to continue to empower women and their businesses by highlighting their successes and achievements on International Women’s Day at The Play Date.”
