Playmobil is taking a shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist.

Timed with the 40th anniversary of NBCUniversal’s Knight Rider next year, Playmobil took to social media to tease the unmistakable form of the 1982 Pontiac Trans Am that was made famous as the Knight Industries Two Thousand, best known as KITT.

Knight Rider aired for four seasons on NBC from 1982-1986 and starred David Hasselhoff as Michael Knight, “a young loner on a crusade to champion the cause of the innocent, the helpless, the powerless in a world of criminals who operate above the law.”

During the original series run, Knight Rider was a licensing juggernaut that spawned a host of toys and games from many of the top players in the industry at the time, including Kenner, Ertl, Coleco, and more. In recent years, Knight Rider products have been produced by a variety of licensees, including Diamond Select Toys, Jada Toys, Mattel, and Super7.

While the details have yet to be revealed, Playmobil has teased three figures that will come with KITT next year. All signs point to the trio as Michael Knight, Devon Miles, and Bonnie Barstow, core characters throughout the show.
