Sakar International has been named the North American manufacturer for Power Wheels through a new agreement with Mattel.
Under the partnership, Sakar will oversee the development, manufacturing, and marketing of Power Wheels ride-on products across North America, beginning this year. The first products developed under Sakar’s leadership are expected to arrive at retail in Fall 2026.
According to the companies, the agreement builds on a relationship spanning more than 14 years across multiple product categories. While structured as a licensing arrangement, both companies described the collaboration as part of a broader long-term partnership focused on growth and retail expansion.
“The Power Wheels collaboration has been in development for about a year,” explains Kelley Davison, Vice President of Licensing at Sakar International. “Throughout that time, our teams worked closely to align on product vision, category strategy, and execution. This partnership reflects the mutual trust between our organizations and our shared commitment to delivering innovation at scale.”
The upcoming product lineup is expected to combine classic Power Wheels play patterns with updated designs, performance features, and accessibility improvements aimed at modern consumers.
“Power Wheels has always been about creating memorable first experiences that spark creativity and imagination,” says Meredith Norrie, Vice President and Head of Consumer Products, Mattel. “Families have trusted Power Wheels for decades to deliver engaging first driving experiences for kids, and this collaboration with Sakar reflects a shared commitment to the brand’s next chapter.”
The appointment also strengthens Sakar’s position as the company continues growing its portfolio of licensed and lifestyle-focused consumer products.
