As a summer send-off, independent game publisher Small Rice Studios has launched its flagship card game across the U.S. and U.K. — Roast: A Game of Sinister Sweetness and Cozy Betrayal.

Created by brothers Doug and Nick Ray, Roast is a fast-paced card game that balances cunning with cuteness. Players compete to craft the perfect s’mores by toasting marshmallows over a campfire. The longer the mallow is in the fire, the more points it’s worth, but campers also risk getting burnt, or worse, attacked by hungry bears, chocolate-stealing casanovas, and even fellow players. The player with the most s’mores when the fire burns out wins.

“We set out to capture that nostalgic feeling of sitting around a fire with friends, where lighthearted banter meets competitive fun,” says Doug Ray, Co-Founder of Small Rice Studios. “Roast is easy to pick up in two minutes, but it delivers enough tactical depth and playful revenge to keep players coming back round after round.”

The Standard Edition features everything players ages 7 and up need to jump right in, including tokens, toasting stick cards, and a variety of quirky illustrated characters to collect. Families can also score a Deluxe Edition of the game, featuring a one-of-a-kind wooden box, hand-engraved with flames.

Roast is now available at more than 70 specialty retailers across the U.S. and online, with distribution actively expanding in the U.K. Wholesale opportunities available through Faire. To learn more about Small Rice Studios, visit roast-game.com.
