Taking the reins at Comic-Con International: San Diego (SDCC), Hasbro unveiled a new My Little Pony series galloping to YouTube early next year: My Little Pony: Forever Friendship.
“For over forty years, My Little Pony has remained one of Hasbro’s most beloved and enduring franchises, connecting with generations of fans around the world through stories rooted in friendship, imagination, and creativity,” said Kim Boyd, President of Global Licensing & Entertainment, Hasbro. “With My Little Pony: Forever Friendship, we’re continuing to grow the brand through fresh storytelling, a visionary creative team, and new entertainment experiences designed to inspire today’s audiences while staying true to the heart of what fans have always loved about My Little Pony.”
Developed in collaboration with Lil Critter Workshop, My Little Pony: Forever Friendship reunites Twilight Sparkle (Jenna Weir), Rainbow Dash (Ava Preston), Pinkie Pie (Kaya Kanashiro), and Fluttershy (Kayla Samson) for a new adventure through Equestria. Each 9-minute episode follows the friends as they navigate all sorts of magical mishaps, where the ponies will learn heartfelt lessons about kindness, individuality, and belonging. The series premiere will air on YouTube in early 2027, with bi-weekly episodes to follow.
My Little Pony: Forever Friendship will be directed by Tayhan Mustafa, while Gretchen Mallorie will serve as its head writer and showrunner. The series will also introduce an all-new art style to the brand, filled with bright colors, expressive animations, and key contributions from acclaimed illustrator Nicholas Kole.
To accompany the series’ announcement, Hasbro has unveiled the series’ official theme song, “Forever Friendship,” written and produced by Super Weirdo Productions. While the ponies will sing the fun, feel-good anthem in the actual series, fans can stream a cover of the song now performed by vocalist Cali Rodi. Additional music, social content, and even a companion podcast are also on the schedule for the days leading up to the premiere.
