The ToyAward nominees at Spielwarenmesse are taking playtime to the next level.
The Spielwarenmesse international trade fair, which takes place at the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre in Nuremberg, Germany, from Feb. 1-5, plans to display the ToyAward finalists in their own special area.Â
ToyAward honors innovative new products based on six different categories: babies, preschool age, school children, teenagers, and adults, as well as products from startup companies and those that promote sustainability.Â
An expert and international jury with backgrounds in retail, market research, education, and more narrowed down the submissions of 584 new products from 338 exhibitors to 17 nominees. The jury made their decisions based on the products’ originality, potential retail success, concept, and enjoyment.Â

Spielwarenmesse plans to honor the ToyAward innovation winners during the media event PressPreview on Jan. 31. This event takes place at Nuremberg Exhibition Centre and will be livestreamed on the business platform Spielwarenmesse Digital (digital.spielwarenmesse.de) starting at noon. Those who miss the ceremony can watch it later on Spielwarenmesse Digital as a video on demand.
