Spin Master is broadening its partnership with TerraCycle to collect and recycle its products and packaging in the U.S. The company behind PAW Patrol and Hatchimals first partnered with recycling leader TerraCycle in April 2021.
Through this program and its recent expansion, families can send old toys, games, and packaging to TerraCycle to be recycled for free. To participate, families can sign up on the TerraCycle program page to receive their pre-paid shipping label. Then, they can send in their old toys and games to TerraCycle to be melted down and transformed and recycled into items like park benches and picnic tables.
“The Spin Master Recycling Program has given families a perfect chance to engage the next generation through sustainability in a fun and approachable way,” says TerraCycle founder and CEO Tom Szaky. “This program makes it easy to show your children that recycling and the environment don’t have to be relegated to the classroom with the help of their parents, kids can grow into responsible environmental citizens through the course of their everyday lives by responsibly recycling their well-loved toys, along with the packaging from their new ones.”
Spin Master’s decision to expand its recycling program with TerraCycle is a part of the company’s sustainability efforts highlighted in the recently issued 2021 CSR report. In addition to expanding its recycling program, Spin Master has committed to reducing plastic packaging by 50% by 2025.
