Spin Master has named its top toy trends for the year along with different Spin Master products that follow these trends.
“Our teams scour the globe in search of what’s influencing how kids play and then translate that into disruptive toy innovation,” says Doug Wadleigh, President of Toy for Spin Master. “Known as trailblazers for our innovation, we’ve made toys that defy gravity, magical creatures that hatch themselves, and brought interactive digital pets to kids’ fingertips; we are excited to introduce what’s new and next. This year we’re celebrating iconic brands, tapping into the pop culture zeitgeist, and sparking imaginations in kids of all ages.”
SUSTAINED FUN
This trend involves longtime classic toys alongside sustainable, eco-friendly options that are good for play and the planet. The Sustained Fun trend includes the Rubik’s Cube 50th Anniversary Retro Cube; the new PAW Patrol core vehicles line, which is made with up to 80% recycled plastic; and the GUND Sustainably Soft Mini Dolls collection, which is made with 100% recycled materials.
SMOKE & MAGIC
In 2024, kids toys featuring fantasy and mythical elements are trending. Spin Master’s upcoming fantasy toys include Bitzee Magicals & Disney, digital pets featuring magical creatures and Disney characters; Hatchimals Alive Make a Splash Playset, a playset that features two surprise characters that are revealed when kids add water; and the Unicorn Academy Rainbow Light-Up Wildstar, an interactive toy inspired by the Netflix animated series Unicorn Academy that responds to kids touch with magical lights and sounds.

POPCULTURED PLAYGROUND
Pop culture and sports toys are also having a big moment this year. With the Olympics in Paris this year, different sports products include the Tech Deck’s Olympic 8-pack, which features eight exclusive board graphics that are used by skateboarders competing at the Olympics this year, and SwimWays Hydro Paddle & Pickle Ball Set, which takes the latest trendy sport to the pool.
This trend also includes references to social media and other pop culture moments, including the Wednesday Cube, a Rubik’s Cube inspired by Wednesday Addams, and T@G Someone Who, a party game in which players vote on who is most likely to fit a meme.
PRESCHOOL PROTAGONISTS
Preschoolers will see toys focused on characters and personalities kids can root for, including Vida the Vet Vet Clinic, a playset inspired by Spin Master’s new animated preschool series that includes 10 accessories including Vida and Sunny the mouse; a new line of Ms. Rachel toys; and the Gabby’s Dollhouse Gabby’s Celebration Dollhouse, a set that features a rainbow roof, and new celebration-themed rooms.
PLAY IN MOTION
The final trend in Spin Master’s lineup focuses on kinetics and how things move, including the Kinetic Sand Squish Motion Playset, which comes with six sand tools, a flat play space, and a squish zone; the Monster Jam World Final Supercharge Speedway Playset, which launches the exclusive 1:64 scale Monster Jam truck through an endless figure eight; and the Hex Bots Wall Crawler Gecko, a remote-control creature which defies gravity and can travel up walls.
These new toys will launch throughout the year at mass market retailers.
