Hasbro Water Park

The toy-inspired experiences continue to take shape as Hasbro preps some of its famous properties to make a big splash in Malaysia.

Developer Meridian Berhad unveiled its flagship project, the Malaysia Tourism City (MTC) — and the world’s first Hasbro-themed water park is part of the plan. YB Datuk Mohamaddin bin Ketapi, minister of Tourism and Culture Malaysia was on hand to witness the signing ceremony. G.I. Joe, My Little Pony, Monopoly, Nerf, Battleship, MouseTrap, Elefun & Friends, and Play-Doh are among the represented brands when the park opens.

“We will be entering a relationship with Hasbro to develop the world’s first themed water park based on their beloved brands including My Little Pony, Monopoly, Nerf, and more, which will be an iconic anchor attraction at the heart of the MTC master plan,” says Meridian major shareholder Dato’ Seth Yap Ting Hau. “The water park will be 20 acres in size, offering a wide range of new rides that are not available in other parks in Malaysia, by weaving in exclusive IP rights.”

A 600-acre space called The Land at Kuala Linggi will be transformed into the MTC in the Malaysian state of Melaka. In addition to the water park, land will be allocated for commercial use, leisure and entertainment, retail, residential, and public space.
