Hasbro’s Wizards of the Coast is continuing its nine-year-long relationship with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and the Extra Life campaign to bring medical equipment and innovations to children’s hospitals across the country, particularly Seattle Children’s Autism Center. Since 2013, Wizards of the Coast has raised more than $4 million for the cause.

“My favorite thing about doing charity work for kids is how willing everyone in the company is to say ‘yes’ and to join in,” says Mike Turian, product architect for Magic: The Gathering. “At Wizards, we create games where kids can be anything they want to be. Seattle Children’s Autism Center brings that same joy through the work they do developing kids to their full potential.”

To raise money this year, Wizards of the Coast is selling merchandise from its most popular brands – Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons. The offerings include unique Magic: The Gathering cards designed by former Seattle Children’s patients that come in sleeves with Lathiss, Dragon Queen; Birds of Paradise; Silver Legion; and a secret card. Half of the price for the cards will go to Seattle Children’s and Extra Life. For Dungeons & Dragons, Wizards of the Coast will be selling themed Extra Life T-shirts featuring Flap Jack the flumph.

“The generous philanthropy efforts of Wizards of the Coast support some of our most innovative and creative initiatives related to community outreach and training, building our capacity to serve more patients and families, and improving our systems to deliver more equitable patient care,” says Mendy Minjarez, executive director of Seattle Children’s Autism Center.

On Nov. 5, Wizards of the Coast will host Magic: The Gathering Game Day 2022, an event full of perks and prize opportunities. All the proceeds from the event will go to Extra Life.
